Choose the Right Bike Seat with MySport
MTB Seats – MTB riders need to be able to quickly move forward and backward on the seat during rides. While MTB seats are wider than road bike seats, they are still narrow enough to make pedaling easier and allow for quicker movements on the trails. We recommend choosing a lightweight seat with minimal padding, a short front section, and a sturdy construction.
Road Bike Seats – For road cycling, the seat is narrow, lightweight, with minimal padding, and a very firm structure. It is usually made from high-quality materials to achieve the best performance.
City Bike Seats – For trips to the store, around the city, or short commutes, we recommend a wider, softer, and more comfortable bike seat. On city bikes, the rider typically sits in a more upright position, so a larger support area is needed.
Touring Bike Seats – Cyclists who spend long hours on their bikes need extra comfort. Wide and soft city bike seats are not suitable here, as they will cause discomfort on longer rides. We recommend choosing a medium-width seat with medium padding, specifically designed for touring bikes.
Choose Based on Gender
Men's Seats – Men’s seats are narrower, with a longer front section than women’s seats. Some men's seats are designed with a hole or cut-out in the center to reduce pressure, considering male anatomy.
Women's Seats – For most women, soft and comfortable women’s seats are still the most comfortable. Since women have a wider pelvis, women's bike seats are typically designed to be slightly shorter and wider than men's seats, providing a larger support area.
